Turkmen football players win AFC Challenge League Cup

Turkmen football club Arkadag won its first international trophy by claiming the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Challenge League title, the third most prestigious club tournament in Asia. In the final, Arkadag defeated the Cambodian team 2-1. Over the past two seasons, the club has also secured the National Championship title, the National Cup, and the Super Cup. The Challenge League victory is the club’s fourth major trophy. Turkmenistan actively collaborates with FIFA and the AFC and is a member of both the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

«This victory is a historic moment not only for Arkadag but for all of Turkmen football. We started our journey just two years ago, and this is our first international trophy. Being named the tournament’s best player is certainly a great honor, but ultimately, this win is the result of a team effort. Each of us gave our all to make this success possible,» said Shanazar Tirkeshov, Most Valuable Player of the AFC Challenge League.
