Kazakhstan’s GDP grew by 4.1% in the first half of the year. Prime Minister
Olzhas Bektenov today briefed President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the country’s
socio-economic development. The main drivers of growth were the manufacturing
industry, transport, construction, trade, and agriculture. Investment in fixed
capital reached 9.5 trillion tenge. Bektenov reported that around 200 new
manufacturing projects are scheduled to be launched by the end of the year. In
the construction sector, up to 20 million square metres of housing will be
commissioned. The meeting also placed particular emphasis on implementing the
President’s instructions on digitalization and the development of the national
AI infrastructure. Bektenov also briefed the President on the Data Center
Valley project. The Head of State was further updated on measures to implement
the new Constitution, including aligning national legislation with the Basic
Law and strengthening the principles of Just Kazakhstan and Law and Order.
Following the meeting, President Tokayev instructed the Government to continue
systematic efforts to ensure the country’s dynamic development and to begin
implementing a large-scale program for the construction of social and
infrastructure facilities.
