The implementation of
major investment projects, industrial development, and the launch of new manufacturing facilities
were the main focus of First Deputy Prime Minister Nurlybek Nalibayev’s working
visit to the Zhambyl Region. During the visit, Nalibayev reviewed the
development of new chemical industry enterprises, which are expected to supply
the domestic market with locally produced goods while strengthening the
country's export potential. One of the region's largest investment projects
currently underway is the construction of the Qazaq Soda plant. The first
phase, with an annual production capacity of 500,000 tonnes of soda ash, is
scheduled to be launched by the end of the year, with capacity set to increase
to 1 million tonnes annually. Nalibayev also visited the EuroChem Karatau
plant, where a 500-billion-tenge investment project is underway. Once fully
operational, the facility will produce up to 1 million tonnes of mineral
fertilizers annually. In addition, he inspected the progress of projects in the
housing, energy, and transport infrastructure sectors.
