Around 50 athletes from Tatarstan to participate in fifth World Nomad Games

About 50 athletes from Tatarstan will compete in the upcoming fifth World Nomad Games in Astana, having thoroughly prepared for the event. They intend to demonstrate their skills in such national sports as wrestling, Kazakh kuresi, and audaryspak. Since 2016, Tatarstan’s athletes have participated in the World Nomad Games, winning five medals. They are confident that the upcoming event will be held at the highest level and will determine the best.

«This year’s World Nomad Games are particularly significant due to the Koresh wrestling included in the program. Tatarstan will showcase its traditional wrestling, which has a rich history and culture. We actively support this national sport, which originated long ago thanks to our ancestors,» said Ayrat Gataullin, analyst at Tatarstan’s Ministry of Sports.

«The World Nomad Games bring together all peoples. Two years ago, I won the Koresh wrestling event in Türkiye. We hope our athletes will perform well this year. The competition is very strong, with even more countries participating than in the World Championship,» noted athlete Dinar Karimullin.
