Kazakh President’s TV and Radio
Complex has launched a unique project. To mark the 80th anniversary of
Victory, the Kazinform agency is reviving rare photographs from World War II.
One such image, taken in the 1940s, features the renowned sniper Aliya
Moldagulova, brought to life with the help of artificial intelligence. This and
other photographs are stored in a vast database containing hundreds of
thousands of images. They will soon be made accessible to the general public.
The restored photos will be displayed on LED screens at railway stations and
airports across the country. The first exhibition of this unique project will
open on May 5 at the Nurly Zhol railway station.
«To mark the 80th anniversary of Victory, we have compiled a
vast archive. Using new technologies, we began restoring old archival
photographs. This offers a new way to experience the atmosphere of that time. A
black-and-white image may feel distant, but when brought to life in color, it
reveals the emotions, aspirations, and dreams of the people it portrays,» noted
Nagashybek Aldan, Deputy Managing Director of the Kazinform International News
Agency.
