The finalists of the Silk Way Star music mega-project have been announced. The ninth episode served as the decisive semi-final, where contestants performed duets with Kazakh artists for the first time. Following the competition day, performers from Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Georgia, Mongolia, China, Armenia, and Uzbekistan advanced to the final round. In the semi-final, the artists presented original tracks, national compositions, and popular hits from their countries. The international jury praised the contestants for their high level of preparation.
«I never thought I’d sing in
Chinese. But when I heard the melody, I fell in love with it. Zhang helped me a
lot, and we understood each other perfectly on stage - he’s a true professional,» shared Zharkynai Khanaiym,
Honored Figure of Kazakhstan.
«It’s a Chinese song, and it
tells a sad story: lovers who couldn’t be together for three centuries. My
stage partner felt it deeply and conveyed all the emotions in her performance.
Even though I’m Chinese, I was very surprised by her interpretation,» said Zhang HeXuan, Silk Way Star contestant from China.
The long-awaited finale
will take place this Saturday, November 22, when the winner of the title Silk Way Star will be revealed. The show brought together
performers from 12 countries and has become a new cultural brand for the
region, earning the support from the jury and a billion-strong
