Artificial intelligence is
becoming an increasingly important tool in public finance management. AI
technologies are being actively integrated in Kazakhstan’s public procurement and
budget monitoring systems. This has helped shorten procurement procedures,
eliminate human error, and enhance transparency. According to the Ministry of
Finance, tenders are now conducted automatically through a rating-based system
— without the need for a commission. The winner is selected by AI based on specific
criteria. This approach has already saved the budget more than 780 billion
tenge. In addition, an online
monitoring system featuring AI elements has identified risky payments in the
education sector exceeding 300 billion tenge. The system is now being expanded
to other areas, including healthcare, culture, tourism, and sports.
