The memory of legendary pilot Khiuaz Dospanova was honored in Atyrau. She was the first Kazakh female pilot who became famous for her heroism during the war. Khiuaz Dospanova voluntarily went to the front. She served in the 46th Guards Taman Women’s Aviation Regiment and took part in the liberation of the North Caucasus, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, and Germany. Despite being seriously wounded twice, she returned to service and met Victory in Berlin. She was awarded many military orders and medals. In 2004, she was awarded the title of Halyk Kaharmany.

Raskova and carried out more than 300 combat missions. She was injured 14 times
in aircraft crashes. On September 16, 2019, a monument to Khiuaz Dospanova was
installed in front of the airport building in Atyrau. On March 19, 2020, Atyrau
