Over 18,000 children in Astana play national game Assyk Atu

Over 18,000 children in Astana simultaneously played one of Kazakhstan’s most popular traditional games, Assyk, in celebration of Nauryz Meiramy. A unique feature of the program was the use of AI technology. Around 3,000 children participated in a flash mob, arranging themselves to form the shape of the Assyk «Alshy» and the words «Altyn Saka». Another 15,000 children from kindergartens and schools joined the game remotely. The event aimed to promote national and cultural values, as well as traditional sports.

«Today’s event was hosted by artificial intelligence, with the program organized using AI technology. 3,000 children on-site connected to the screen simultaneously, while students from other schools joined via a live stream and played Assyk in sync,» said Ginayat Syzdykov, Director of the Orken Children and Youth Physical Education Center, Astana mayor’s office.
