Opera arias and duets, instrumental and choral compositions by Kazakh authors and Western European classical composers - Astana Opera presents an open-air concert series. Performances by the theatre artists will take place from June 13 to July 6. A total of 10 concerts are planned. Beloved by many, ‘The Four Seasons’ by Antonio Vivaldi, and also ‘Opera Galo’, are among them. The concerts’ program is designed for both adults and children. The audience will witness the presentation of Astana Opera’s unique project - the ‘PICCOLO’ theater, which will present a two-act stage production of ‘Don Pasquale’ by Gaetano Donizetti. Foreign artists from Italy, Switzerland, Japan, Russia and the Czech Republic will also perform as surprise acts. The concerts will be taking place on two city stages. These are the stage of the amphitheater in the City Park and the one on Mambetov Street.
“Currently, the theater attendance is limited and we cannot, unfortunately, accept a larger audience following the rules of the established restrictions. Of course, our artists want to perform in front of a larger audience, so we decided to organize an outdoor performance with all the sanitary standards. It is going to be a live sound, accompanied by an orchestra and a choir. I think it’s very important to introduce people to culture, to high classical art. We’ve been in quarantine for over a year now, and it’s very difficult for artists,” said Azamat Zheltyrguzov, Opera Company Supervisor, Astana Opera.
