Ten billion tenge has been allocated this year for the development of the
Alakol coastline. The funds will be used to modernize engineering and transport
infrastructure and implement digital solutions. The tourist zone is set to
expand tenfold – from 300 to
3,000 hectares – increasing its capacity to 75,000 visitors per day. During a
working visit to the Abai region, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov reviewed the
implementation of the President’s directives on developing the region’s tourism
potential. He also examined the project for the construction of an
administrative and business center in Semei, which will include modern
residential districts, schools, kindergartens, and office complexes. The total
area of the site exceeds 1,000 hectares.
