Kazakhstan is launching a new support program for medical startups and AI-based projects. MedHub «Health AI Quality», a platform designed to help local developers integrate their technologies into the healthcare system more quickly, was presented at the Astana Hub international technology park. Participants will receive support at every stage, from navigating regulatory procedures and testing their solutions in healthcare facilities to bringing ready-made products to market. They will also gain access to anonymized medical data required for developing and training AI models. According to project founder Togjan Qojaly, the initiative aims to create an environment in Kazakhstan where medical startups can grow faster and digital technologies can become reliable tools for doctors and patients.
«Those who
need digitalization the most are doctors, who need to understand that it is not
a replacement, but a tool to assist them. It is a diagnostic assistant, helping
ensure that people receive accurate diagnoses and that doctors have access to
additional diagnostic equipment. We are creating an area where data will be
anonymized, allowing startups that do not have access to such data to work with
it. Research institutes that need this data for scientific studies will also be
able to use it. Therefore, we are creating a data exchange platform,» noted Togjan Qojaly,
Founder and Head of MedHub «Health AI Quality» project.
