President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev took part in the Taza Qazaqstan nationwide environmental campaign. The
Head of State recalled that the movement was launched two years ago. He emphasized
that the project is not just about protecting nature and maintaining
cleanliness, it is about raising a conscious generation and shaping a new
quality of the nation. Last year, around 1,200 environmental events were held
across all regions, more than one million hectares were cleaned up, and
approximately four million saplings were planted. More than 800,000 volunteers
actively participated in this work.
«The Regional Ecological Summit, held under
the auspices of the United Nations, has concluded in Astana. As part of this
large-scale forum, a number of key events took place, including those focused
on eco-volunteering and resource conservation. As I have repeatedly emphasized,
no country in the world can tackle environmental challenges on its own. This is
an exceptionally complex and demanding task, and it requires the combined
efforts of diplomacy, science, business, and civil society, including volunteers,
dedicated young people. It is patriotic youth
who, at all times and everywhere, serve as a driving force for change,» President Tokayev noted.
The Head of State expressed sincere gratitude to all
participants of Taza Qazaqstan, especially the youth of Kazakhstan. They are
making a significant contribution to the common cause and demonstrating a
strong example of civic responsibility, emphasized President Tokayev. He also
highlighted the importance of fostering environmental culture through
education. He instructed the Ministry of Education to develop and adopt the «Zhassyl
Sabaktar» project. In turn, Taza Qazaqstan should become a national idea.
«The new Constitution enshrines the principles of creative patriotism, unity, solidarity, and love for nature as the foundational pillars of our life. These values have been significantly inspired by the Taza Qazaqstan project, namely, by you, the youth of Kazakhstan. I am very proud of this and thank you all! Over the past two years, this progressive initiative has evolved into a truly nationwide movement. It is important that the project continues to gain new meaning and, in essence, is becoming the moral backbone of the idea of a Just Kazakhstan,» President Tokayev added.
Overall, in recent years there has been active
planting of greenery across the country. More than 1.5 million seedlings have
been planted in forests, and over 18 million trees in cities and rural areas.
In the next three years, Kazakhstan plans to create 46 eco-territories. President
Tokayev awarded a group of active participants of the Taza Qazaqstan campaign
and, together with environmental activists, planted a tree in the capital’s
Samal park. The park is intended to become a new attraction point for family,
sports, and cultural leisure for residents of the capital.
