It has been 20 years since the launch of the eGov.kz portal. Over this period, the service has evolved from an information resource into a fully-fledged digital ecosystem. It integrates government databases and departmental information systems. The portal has continued to develop, and later a mobile application was introduced. In addition, projects such as Smart Bridge, Smart Data Ukimet, and eGov Business were launched. Today, more than 15 million people are registered on the platform, and the total number of services provided has exceeded half a billion. Of more than 1,300 public services, around 90% are available online. The effectiveness of the national system has also been recognized internationally. Kazakhstan ranks 24th among 193 countries in the UN E-Government Development Index and is also among the top 10 in the Online Service Index.
«Among the most in-demand services on the portal are
obtaining a pension contribution statement, registration with a medical clinic,
and a certificate of property ownership. At present, the eGov 3.0 project is in an active
implementation phase. At the beginning of this year, a modernized e-Government
gateway was launched, increasing system capacity. This allows all government
services and platforms to operate more quickly for users. A new design system has also been developed, making the
e-Government portal more user-friendly,» said Shyngys Orazalimov, Deputy Chairman of the Board, National Information Technologies JSC.
