World premiere of opera «Khan Sultan. Altyn Orda» held in Türkiye

The world premiere of the opera «Khan Sultan. Altyn Orda» by composer Khamit Shangaliyev took place in Türkiye. This performance, from the repertoire of the Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theater, commemorates the 800th anniversary of the formation of Ulus Zhoshy. The event was held at Istanbul’s Atatürk Cultural Center, featuring 300 artists. Their live performances, spectacular stage designs, and captivating decorations created a unique atmosphere, enabling the audience to not only witness significant events of the Great Steppe but also immerse themselves in the era of the Golden Horde’s formation. The opera tells the story of a woman who played a pivotal role in shaping the course of history and the future of the state. She was the mother of one of the great Khans of the Golden Horde, Berke Khan, and the third wife of Zhoshy Khan. Over two days, more than 4,000 people attended the performance in Türkiye. Audience members praised the vibrant music, stunning scenery, and the exceptional skill of the Kazakh opera soloists.
