An open-air museum of military equipment is set to open in
Almaty, with construction recently inspected by Kazakh Defense Minister Ruslan
Zhaksylykov. Accompanied by members of Parliament, he toured the site,
reviewing the collection of weaponry and combat vehicles. The museum’s opening
will commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II. The
exposition will feature nearly 30 pieces of wartime military equipment,
including one of the most valuable exhibits - a 152mm howitzer model from 1931.
The facility will be part of the memorial complex at the Park of 28 Panfilov
Guardsmen and will be located on the grounds of the House of the Army.
«We are preparing for this celebration with great care and
dedication. Most of the military equipment has already been set up in the new
open-air museum. We are proud to be finishing preparations in time for the
holiday marking the 80th anniversary of Victory, and we warmly invite everyone
to visit the museum,» said Alua Baikadamova, deputy head of the Almaty branch of
the National Military-Patriotic Center.
«The museum will feature military equipment from the 1940s
used during the war. Currently, we are working on landscaping the entire area
of the House of the Army. Both visitors and residents of the city are welcome
here to relax and enjoy the space,» said Ruslan Zhangulin, spokesperson for the
Kazakh Ministry of Defense.
