Nearly 1,000 unique exhibits from the 13th to 20th centuries were presented in the National Museum of Kazakhstan. A renovated exhibition hall has opened there. It is dedicated to several events of 2020, including the 175th birth anniversary of Abai, the 1150th birth anniversary of Abu Nasr Al-Farabi, the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory and the main holiday of the country - Independence Day. The purpose of the exhibition is to introduce Kazakh residents and foreign visitors to the centuries-long history and rich cultural heritage of the country. The exhibition, which will be held permanently, presents completely unique and exclusive samples of the chronicle of Kazakhstan. There are archival documents, personal belongings of legendary Kazakh khans and rulers, photographs, maquettes of ancient cities, as well as exhibits highlighting the struggle for freedom and independence of the Kazakh land.
“The Kazakh History Hall is divided into several thematic sections. The right part is dedicated to the period of the Kazakh Khanate. This part of the hall specifically covers the period of batyrs, biys and zhyrau. It showcases unique valuable exhibits such as chapan of Abylai Khan, Kazybek Bi, copies of the seals of the Kazakh khans and rulers, elements of state power, scepter, flags, as well as a gilded helmet and other weapons,” said Research Fellow of the National Museum of Kazakhstan Serik Abdrakhmanov.
