An international triathlon tournament, Challenge
Samarkand 2025, was held in Uzbekistan. The event brought together more than 2,000
athletes from over 30 countries. Participants competed in sprint and
middle-distance races across swimming, cycling, and running. The scenic course passed through the International Tourist Center, the
rowing canal, the Eternal City complex, and Samarkand’s historic landmarks. The
total prize pool amounted to $75,000. The tournament was held at a
high level and has become a new point of attraction for the global sports
community.
«The
competition was held at a very high level -
the swimming, cycling, and running stages were excellent. Right now I’m in
first place, but we’ll see how things turn out later since it wasn’t a mass start.
My mood is great, everything is going well,» said
competitor from Kazakhstan Sergei Bodrenko.
«Yeah,
I mean, it was a fantastic venue, and beautiful city with great history
and I saw some amazing things on the
bike. You know. I’m just really grateful to be able to be here and compete in
this beautiful place with such nice people and a great organisation. To get
second on the day is a fantastic result,» shared competition winner from
the United Kingdom Max Stapley.
