The 11th emergency special session of the United Nations General Assembly on Ukraine was held at the UN Headquarters in New York. In his speech, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for the peaceful resolution of conflicts and respect for human rights. He warned that the events in Ukraine could lead to the most serious humanitarian and migration crisis in Europe in decades. It is worth noting that the UN has allocated US$20 million to help the affected Ukrainians.
“I count on every Member State to live up to the principles of the Charter. I hope that the direct talks now taking place between Ukrainian and Russian delegations will produce a path towards a diplomatic solution,” UN Chief said.
