Turkmenistan is preparing to hold the World Championship for Akhal-Teke
Horses. The international event will take place in the Netherlands from
September 4 to 6, bringing together admirers of the legendary breed from around
the world. The three-day event will feature equestrian competitions, an
international scientific conference, an exhibition on Turkmen culture and
traditions, as well as performances by the Galkynysh National Equestrian Group
and the State Circus. Organizers say the championship will help promote the
unique Akhal-Teke breed, strengthen international cooperation in horse
breeding, and introduce international audiences to Turkmenistan's rich
historical and cultural heritage.
