Kazakhstan has launched large-scale efforts to digitally transform its energy sector. The country will introduce an online monitoring system for electricity generation facilities. Thanks to this innovation, technical indicators will be updated in real time every 15 minutes. As part of the national project for the modernization of the energy and utilities sectors, four million smart metering devices are planned to be installed at electricity supply facilities over the next four years. According to the relevant ministry, this will help reduce costs and save about 57 billion tenge. A key element will be the creation of a unified state platform for managing the fuel and energy complex - EnergyTech. The country is also introducing digital monitoring of petroleum products. The Oil Track system, which tracks oil, gas condensate, crude gas, and commercial gas, has registered 325 oil depots.
«A so-called AI alliance of global vendors and IT
companies with AI solutions in the industry has been established to support domestic IT
developers. More than 15 different memoranda on joint testing and
implementation of AI solutions in the sector have been signed between
ministries and residents of Astana Hub as part of pilot implementation. This year, two
artificial intelligence projects have successfully passed pilot testing,» Kazakh Vice Minister of Energy Bakytzhan Ilyas noted.
