Euronews is launching
broadcasts in the Kazakh language. Initially, weekday broadcasts will be
available on YouTube, with television airing to follow. International news,
headlines and on-screen graphics will be adapted for Kazakh-speaking audiences.
During the first phase, some reports will retain their original audio with
Kazakh subtitles. The broadcaster plans to eventually transition all broadcasts
to Kazakh. During a meeting with Euronews chairman Pedro Vargas David,
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed the launch of the project, calling it
a strong example of mutually beneficial cooperation. Vargas David said Kazakh
would become the first Central Asian language to be introduced across the
global Euronews network. He also congratulated the people of Kazakhstan on the
adoption of the new Constitution, saying its principles and values reflect the
country’s commitment to building a strong and progressive state.
