Uzbekistan has joined
the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, while Turkmenistan has become its
observer, as announced during the second meeting of the Foundation’s Council in
Astana. Kazakhstan chairs the Organization in 2025, and today the country has
presented its work plan for the next two years. It has committed to promoting
restoration, scientific, and educational activities. Specifically, Kazakhstan
will conduct a seminar on the museumification of the ancient city of Kulan,
historical reconstructions, and the restoration of the Golden Book – the
12th-century Quran. This year, Turkic culture and heritage centers are expected
to open at the Kazakh National University in Almaty, Kyrgyz National University
in Bishkek, and the cultural center in Istanbul. A series of cultural events
will also be held in Aktau, the cultural capital of the Turkic world.
«We are planning a
symposium for Turkic folklorists and master classes by restorers from Turkic
countries. The festival unites the intangible cultural
heritage of our Turkic peoples, and the upcoming opening will unite the entire
Turkic world. Throughout the year, we will actively host events aimed at promoting
the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Kazakhstan and the entire
Turkic world,» noted Aktoty Raimkulova, President of the Turkic Culture and
Heritage Foundation.
A special cultural and
educational program has been prepared for delegates from the Kyrgyz Republic,
Uzbekistan, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan. First, they were introduced to an
international exhibition dedicated to the 950th anniversary of the encyclopedic
dictionary «Dīwān Lughāt al-Turk» by Mahmud al-Kashgari. They are also expected
to participate in a book presentation and attend a concert featuring the music
of Turkic peoples.
