Strengthening
cultural ties, preserving the Kazakh language, traditions, and national values,
and exchanging experiences—the Second Kurultai of Kazakhs in Asia was held at
Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) in Seoul. Jointly organized by the
Kazakh Embassy in South Korea, Otandastar Foundation, and the Qazaq Nomad Korea
Association, the event brought together around 200 ethnic Kazakhs residing in
Asia, including South Korea, Malaysia, Japan, China, and Mongolia. On the first
day, the program featured a conference and a competition where Korean students
demonstrated their public speaking skills in Kazakh.
Additionally,
participants and guests explored the rich traditions of Kazakh jewelry art,
national cuisine, and popular folk songs.
On the second
day, Kurultai participants celebrated Nauryz. The program was rich and
eventful, featuring musical performances, traditional dances, and games. The
organizers also arranged an exhibition showcasing Kazakh national clothing,
crafts, and cuisine.
