An exhibition dedicated to International Women’s Day has opened
in Ashgabat. Over 170 women - artists, sculptors, and jewelers - presented
their best works celebrating the traditions and culture of the people, the
beauty of Turkmen women, and, of course, the long-awaited arrival of spring. In
total, the exhibition features over 290 works created in a variety of
techniques and genres. What stands out is not only the rich palette of colors
used by the artists but also the design solutions in the jewelry pieces. The
display includes paintings, graphic artworks, unique sculptures, ceramic items,
and tapestries. Both the jury and visitors highly praised the participants’s distinctive
artistic styles and the uniqueness of the festive exhibition.
«My family has been my inspiration and the foundation of my
artistic journey. Through them, I discovered my true calling. For over fifteen
years, I have been immersed in the world of colors and lines, striving to
immortalize the captivating beauty of Turkmen women adorned in traditional
attire and jewelry. My works are defined by bright, rich colors, with red
holding a special place as a symbol of life’s energy,» said Merjen
Amanklydzhova, a teacher at the Turkmen State Art School.
