Kazakhstan will receive expert,
methodological and technical support from the World Health Organization. The
corresponding document aimed at expanding cooperation was ratified by Senate members
today. According to them, the adopted law will contribute to the development of
the national healthcare system in accordance with international standards. Besides,
it will allow the introducing of advanced medical services in Kazakhstan, training
highly qualified specialists and exchanging experience. It is worth noting that
the parties reached the agreement in Geneva in May this year.
“The World Health Organization is
an important international institution. The law approved today contributes to
enhancing cooperation between Kazakhstan and this organization. We hope that
the decisions taken at the session of the European Regional Committee will have
a positive impact on the development of Kazakhstan’s healthcare system,” said Maulen
Ashimbayev, Chairperson of Senate, Upper House of Kazakh Parliament.
It should be noted that the
Kazakh Health Ministry and the WHO European Bureau signed a cooperation
agreement for 2024-2025 as part of the 73rd session of the WHO Regional
Committee for Europe, held recently in the city of Astana. Kazakhstan joined
the World Health Organization in 1992 due to its geographical relation to the
European Bureau, which serves the WHO European Region. It comprises 53
countries, covering a vast geographical region from the Atlantic to the Pacific
oceans.
