The second stage of constructing the open-air archaeological park «Kultobe Settlement» is in full swing in Kazakhstan. Currently, efforts are focused on museumification—installing domes over key historical and architectural monuments. It’s worth noting that the first stage involved enhancing the main entrance to the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. An amphitheater was built in the central area, along with a garden featuring sculptures and fountains. Each phase is coordinated with international experts from UNESCO, as the project is being implemented under the organization’s auspices. The primary goal is to study, preserve, and promote the country’s cultural heritage.
«Construction work is currently underway here. A museum will be built that will attract tourists from around the world. It will showcase unique exhibits, including writings from the era of the ancient Kangju state. Tablets with various texts were once discovered by our archaeologists and historians. We aim to complete the work by the end of the year and present our rich heritage to visitors,» said Zulfukhar Zholdassov, first deputy governor of the Turkistan region.
In the park, visitors from all over the world will be able to see various architectural elements that will help them envision what Turkistan was like during different periods of its history. According to the governor’s office of the Turkistan region, the tourist site will appeal to both adults and children. In the future, guests will be able to take a journey through time, with plans to digitize all the information using IT technologies.
