Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took
part in the solemn ceremony of raising the state flag. The commander of the
honor guard company reported to the Head of State about the readiness for the
ceremony. The National Anthem was then played, and the National Flag of the
country was raised.
The sky-blue flag is a symbol that
represents the independence and sovereignty of Kazakhstan. President Tokayev
noted that thanks to the country’s achievements, the National Flag is recognized
worldwide as a symbol of unity and solidarity. The Head of State also
emphasized that the main symbols unite all citizens both in times of trials and
during triumphant victories.
«May our sky-blue flag always wave proudly!
Every citizen has a sacred duty to honor our flag, which flies high in the blue
sky and instills a sense of respect for our homeland in each of us. Thanks to
our sports victories, it has been raised many times at various international
tournaments. Recently, the first Kazakh female mountaineer once again hoisted
our flag atop the highest point in the world – Mount Everest. I am confident
that the Kazakh banner will soar high at the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in
Paris,» Tokayev said.
Awarding military ranks on the Day of State
Symbols has become a good tradition. Twelve top graduates of higher military
educational institutions received officer epaulets from the hands of President
Tokayev, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.
