Kazakhstan marks State Symbols Day on June 4

State symbols are one of the integral attributes representing the independence and sovereignty of Kazakhstan. This year, a total of 7,000 events were held to mark this important holiday, 300 of which were widely celebrated across the country. On this day, not only symbols are popularized but also the names of their authors and figures who made a significant contribution to the formation of the state symbols. One of them is Yerbol Shaimerdenov, a poet, writer-publicist, and heraldic researcher. It is worth reminding that in early 1992, a resolution of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of Kazakhstan on the creation of a working group to prepare new state symbols was issued. In accordance with it, a special creative commission was formed. Its members included Salyk Zimanov, Yerbol Shaimerdenov, and other well-known figures.

«State symbols are an amazing thing. The first press secretary of the President of Kazakhstan Yerbol Shaimerdenov played a huge role in the creation of unique national attributes, which are close to us in spirit and nature. The heraldic researcher even wrote a book about state symbols,» said writer Kuanysh Zhienbai.
