Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated
the domestic oil and gas workers on the industry’s 125th anniversary. The first
Kazakh oil was extracted in the Atyrau region. Nearly 250,000 people are now
employed in the sector which is keeping up with the times, incorporating
innovative technologies and implementing new environmental safety standards. Besides
raw material extraction, Kazakhstan has established oil refining processes. The
country produces most types of fuel and petroleum products, the Head of State
emphasized. He also noted the contributions of leading global oil and gas
corporations to the sector’s advancement. Projects such as Tengiz, Kashagan,
Karachaganak, and the CPC pipeline are prime examples of mutually beneficial
cooperation between the state and investors. President Tokayev outlined future
challenges that need to be addressed in the oil and gas sector.
«The global oil and gas industry is at the forefront
of scientific and technological progress. To ensure sustainable growth in
production volumes, it is essential to actively introduce advanced technologies
in geological exploration and field development. In the context of
unprecedented international turbulence, a priority task is further
diversification of export routes. The development of the oil refining sector is
of immense importance. It is necessary to ensure stable production of petroleum
products that meet modern environmental standards. The oil and gas chemistry
sector is also highly promising,» said the Head of State.
