Kazakhstan has increased grain exports to Central
Asian countries to 2.5 million tonnes in the first eight months of 2024. During
the same period last year, 1.8 million tonnes of crops were delivered to
neighboring countries, as reported by Kazakhstan’s national carrier. According
to the company, a significant grain shipment to the region, namely up to
250,000 tonnes, is scheduled for September. In the first 12 days of September
alone, exports amounted to 132,000 tonnes of grain, marking a 2.5-fold increase
compared to the same period in 2023. From January to August, 1.1 million tonnes
of the product were sent to China. Overall, Kazakhstan exported four million
tonnes of grain to foreign markets over the reporting period of eight months.
