In recent years, Kazakhstan and
Qatar have made significant progress in various areas of bilateral and
multilateral cooperation, establishing a solid legal framework and launching a
number of major investment projects. This was emphasized by Kazakh President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during a meeting with Qatari Ambassador to Kazakhstan
Abdullah bin Hussein Al Jaber. The Head of State named Qatar as one of the
country’s closest partners, sharing common goals and aspirations. President
Tokayev conveyed his gratitude to Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani
for his support and participation in the upcoming SCO summit in Astana as an
honorary guest. On his part, the Ambassador expressed gratitude for the warm
welcome and confirmed Doha’s readiness to continue cooperation in various
fields. The parties also discussed prospects in trade, economy, energy, and
healthcare.
