The trade turnover between
Kazakhstan and the UAE can reach $1 billion due to the planned expansion of the
list of goods. It bears noting that at the end of last year, the bilateral
trade between the two countries amounted to $633 million. Kazakh Prime Minister
Alikhan Smailov and Minister of Cabinet Affairs in the UAE Government Mohammad
Al Gergawi discussed issues of interstate cooperation. At the meeting, the
parties reviewed the prospects for increasing trade and economic cooperation,
measures to share experience in public administration as well as investment
cooperation. Thus, last year the United Arab Emirates invested at least $420
million in Kazakhstan’s economy, whereas this year, the figure exceeded $400
million in the first six months alone. Smailov expressed readiness for further
cooperation in all priority areas. In turn, Mohammad Al Gergawi emphasized that
