Kazakhstan, UAE to enhance trade turnover to $1 billion

The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the UAE can reach $1 billion due to the planned expansion of the list of goods. It bears noting that at the end of last year, the bilateral trade between the two countries amounted to $633 million. Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov and Minister of Cabinet Affairs in the UAE Government Mohammad Al Gergawi discussed issues of interstate cooperation. At the meeting, the parties reviewed the prospects for increasing trade and economic cooperation, measures to share experience in public administration as well as investment cooperation. Thus, last year the United Arab Emirates invested at least $420 million in Kazakhstan’s economy, whereas this year, the figure exceeded $400 million in the first six months alone. Smailov expressed readiness for further cooperation in all priority areas. In turn, Mohammad Al Gergawi emphasized that the UAE attaches great importance to the development of relations with Kazakhstan.
