Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov,
who arrived in Astana on an official visit. The Head of State expressed
satisfaction with Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan relations. On his part, Rashid
Meredov confirmed Ashgabat’s commitment to further enhancing bilateral
cooperation. During the meeting, the parties discussed the progress of major
projects in energy, trade and economic, transport and logistics sectors.
Special attention was given to deepening the cultural and humanitarian
dimension, which actively evolves every year.
“We regard Turkmenistan as a reliable strategic
partner and a state close to us in spirit and history. Indeed, in recent
years, cooperation between our countries has progressed steadily, gaining a new
momentum, including in strategic economic sectors. Cooperation is also
developing in the cultural and humanitarian fields. A lot of work has been done
in this area, and there is still much to be done,” said President Tokayev.
