The new Constitution laid
the foundation for a large-scale modernization of Kazakhstan’s political and
legal system. It enshrined the country’s core values, strengthened the role of constitutional
institutions, and set a clear direction for the nation’s development. These
issues were on the agenda of an international roundtable held at the
Presidential Center. The event brought together members of Parliament, representatives of government agencies, and foreign experts.
Participants examined the practical implementation of the new constitutional
provisions and explored the next steps.
«Values such as sovereignty, independence, human rights, and the constitutional order are being given priority. Of the 96 articles in the new Constitution, Articles 1 through 11 will take precedence over the remaining articles,» noted Almas Kanatov, Executive Director for lawmaking work, Institute of Parliamentarism.
