Kazakhstan, Türkiye sign contracts worth $180 million

Ten agreements worth $180 million were signed between Kazakhstan and Türkiye at a business forum in Ankara. They cover the export of finished products, the construction of a logistics hub, and several factories. The event was held with the participation of Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. During his visit, he met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, held talks with the country’s Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, and also discussed investment cooperation with representatives of major Turkish holdings and companies. Bektenov noted that the current focus of joint work is on deep grain processing, carbon chemistry, oil and gas industry, and other projects that will enable the production of high value-added goods. Addressing business representatives, Bektenov underscored that the government is ready to provide support for the implementation of projects important for the country.

“Kazakhstan has immense investment potential, and we are keen on further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with Türkiye. Our goal is to transfer advanced technologies, localize production, and establish clusters for deep processing to produce high-quality products with high added value. Investors interested in collaborating in this direction will be provided with the necessary resources, infrastructure, and support,” said Bektenov.

“We plan to establish a plant for the production of modern irrigation systems in Kazakhstan, which will become the largest in the country and Central Asia. We have signed a corresponding agreement with the governor’s office of the Kyzylorda region. Our intention is to bring cutting-edge irrigation technologies to Kazakhstan. It’s not just about installing equipment; we aim to establish a complete production cycle of this product in your country,” said Huseyin Akin, CEO of Akplas company.
