Kazakhstan plans to reconstruct 14,000 km of irrigation systems

A total of 14,000 kilometers of irrigation systems are planned to be reconstructed in Kazakhstan. The country’s Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation has developed a six-year comprehensive water management development plan until 2031. As part of its implementation, it is also planned to modernize 15 existing reservoirs and construct 20 new ones on the country’s territory. Together, these and other measures, will not only allow the efficient use of the country’s existing water resources but also increase their reserves. Additionally, it will expand the areas of ​ ​ irrigated land, as noted by the ministry.
