The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Italy exceeded $16 billion last
year. Over the first eight months of 2024, the trade reached about $14 billion. In terms of exports, while last year’s
figure stood at around $15 billion, in 2024 it has reached nearly $13 billion.
The main growth drivers were oil, coal, flax seeds and propylene polymers. These
figures were presented during the Kazakh-Italian business and investment forum in
Milan. The Kazakh side proposed introducing the Made with Italy concept, which will
allow for the promotion of joint venture products in international markets and
strengthen their positions. An important aspect of this
initiative is the creation of centers of excellence for the transition to
European quality standards, which will ensure the rapid entry of Kazakh
products into European markets.
«It is worth noting that over 50 major Kazakh
manufacturers participated in the forum to outline key areas for deepening
cooperation with our Italian partners. The focus is on five main sectors: agricultural
processing and organic products, high value-added products and mechanical
engineering, the promising field of transport and logistics, IT technologies,
and tourism,» said Arman Shakkaliyev, Kazakh Minister of Trade and Integration.
