Kazakhstan harvests record 27.1 million tonnes of grain

Kazakhstan has harvested a record crop of over 27 million tonnes of grain, Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov announced at a government meeting. He noted that the country has threshed more than 20 million tonnes of wheat — half a million tonnes more than in 2024. More than 2 million tonnes of the new crop have already been exported, marking a 21% increase compared to the same period last season. Export destinations include countries in Europe, Central and Southeast Asia, North Africa, and the UAE. Saparov added that 4 million tonnes of barley have been threshed to date, while the legume harvest has reached about 1 million tonnes for the first time. This year’s oilseed yield has also set a new record.

«In addition, 2.9 million tonnes of potatoes, 3.8 million tonnes of vegetables, and 2.6 million tonnes of melons have been harvested. The cotton harvest has also been completed. Thanks to the use of modern cultivation technologies, including drip irrigation, some farms achieved yields of up to 50 centners per hectare. Overall, with an average yield of nearly 30 centners per hectare, 428,000 tonnes of raw cotton were harvested — 42% more than in the previous year,» Saparov said.
