Kazakhstan will participate in
the third Forum of Interregional Cooperation in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous
Region (XUAR) and in the China-Eurasia Expo which will take place in Urumqi on
June 26, the government’s press service reports. It is noteworthy that the
country has been actively expanding cooperation with the XUAR in recent years. In
2023, mutual trade turnover increased by 70 percent to $20 billion. In the
first two months of 2024, the figure amounted to more than $3.5 billion, which
is a 90 percent increase compared to the same period last year. To date,
Kazakhstan accounts for 40 percent of Xinjiang’s foreign trade turnover.
