More
than 5,000 events were held in Kazakhstan to mark the Day of Unity of the
People. Patriotic flash mobs, festivals, concerts, and educational activities
took place across all regions of the country. More
than 60 events were organized in the capital. Festivities filled with an atmosphere of
friendship and unity were held at a venue near the
House of Friendship in Astana. Thousands of city residents and visitors to the capital gathered there. Performers from
ethno-cultural associations took the stage, and everyone had the opportunity to enjoy songs, dances, and vibrant national
costumes and become part of the celebration.
«The House of Friendship is a large,
close-knit family. It is home to 24 ethno-cultural centers. Every day here is
filled with a wide range of events and activities. Each year, we celebrate it
joyfully with dances, songs, games, and vibrant
fairs like this,» noted Dmitry
Ostankovich, Deputy Chair of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan.
A
children’s national costume contest was organized for the youngest
participants.
«The idea behind my granddaughter Alisha’s costume is the unity of all peoples around our peaceful Kazakhstan,» said Kulshira Akhmetbekova, a resident of Astana.
The celebration became both a platform for exploring the cultures of different ethnic groups and a place where what matters most is strengthened – mutual understanding between people.
«My wife found out
about it on social media, and we were ready to come here early in the morning to have a good time. We try to teach
the children both their father’s and mother’s traditions. They all get along
with each other,» shared Yerzhan and
Victoria, residents of Astana.
