Kazakhstan
is expecting an increase in tourists from Japan with the release of a new
tourist guidebook, «Globe Trotter Central Asia 2025-26,» which includes a
chapter about the country. It provides insights into Kazakhstan’s economy,
culture, and national culinary traditions, which are expected to appeal to
Japanese visitors. The guide also highlights the national symbols, currency,
and unique customs of the Kazakh people while covering six cities: Almaty,
Taraz, Shymkent, Turkistan, Astana, and Aktau. Travelers will find detailed
information about Kazakhstan’s stunning natural landscapes and key attractions.
The most remarkable sites included are Sharyn Canyon, Lake Kaindy, Altyn-Emel
State National Park, Bozzhyra Gorge, Karynzharyk hollow, and the Tamgaly
petroglyphs. Additionally, the authors have provided convenient travel routes
and contact information to help plan trips around Kazakhstan.
«This guide
includes a section dedicated to Kazakhstan, providing detailed information over
50 pages, which is a significant advantage. Since Japan is a key target market
for us and it is experiencing growth, we are preparing to launch direct flights
between Tokyo and Almaty, scheduled for 2026. Additionally, next year, we will
promote Kazakhstan at the EXPO in Osaka. Over the first 10 months of this year,
the number of visitors from Japan has increased by 26 percent compared to the
same period last year, reaching over 8,600 people,» said Daniyel Serzhanuly,
Deputy Chairman of the Kazakh Tourism National Company.
