Almost all announced participants of the
Asian vocal contest Silk Way Star have arrived in Astana, including guests from
Central Asia - Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. By tradition, the
contestants were welcomed at the airport with treats and music. In interviews,
the participants noted not only the country’s hospitality but also the beauty
of the capital. From the plane windows, they admired Astana’s green belt and
the city’s impressive architecture. Performers from 12 countries will compete
for victory in the contest, with filming set to begin on August 26.
«This is the first time I am taking part in a contest of this scale. For me, it is above all a chance to represent my country with dignity, and also to showcase our culture and share a piece of our soul and the heart of our people. And, of course, together with the other performers, to show the whole world that music truly unites us. Music is love, it is peace, and it is friendship,» shared Dovran Shammyev, Silk Way Star contestant from Turkmenistan.
