Kazakh students stand out at international ballet competition in Hungary

Students from the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography demonstrated a high level of skill in the capital of Hungary. The international competition, Budapest Ballet Grand Prix, brought together participants from over 30 countries. Kazakh dancers performed variations from classical ballets such as «Paquita», «Sleeping Beauty», «Le Corsaire», and «Don Quixote», captivating the jury. The National Academy of Choreography emphasizes that participation in such a prestigious competition has been an important step in strengthening Kazakhstan’s position on the global ballet stage and has drawn the attention of choreography professionals to the development of the field in the country.

«They noted the grace of our dancers, their training, academicism, beauty, and the precision of lines. Their musicality was especially praised, which was very gratifying. After the final performances, where our girls took first and second places, many of the jury members, who were prominent and world-renowned ballet artists and choreographers, told us that we stood out for our high level of academicism,» noted Svetlana Kokshinova, head of the school-college of professional education at the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography.
