The Astana Opera theatre artists toured the
Aktobe region, where they visited a ferroalloy plant and learned about the
metal smelting process conducted in furnaces. Later, the soloists performed the
song «Kozimnin Qarasy» with metallurgists, marking the 180th anniversary of the
great poet and thinker Abai.
On the second day, the artists of the capital’s
theater presented an extensive concert program in Khromtau featuring arias from
famous Kazakh operas «Birzhan-Sara,» «Yenlik-Kebek,» and «Aisulu,» along with terme
from «Kyz Zhibek.» Foreign repertoire included works by Johann Sebastian Bach,
Gioachino Rossini, Giuseppe Verdi, and Georges Bizet. For the youngest
spectators, Sergei Prokofiev’s symphonic fairy tale «Peter and the Wolf» was performed.
«Young people are already coming to the
theatre. They like it. We’re witnessing a generational shift. And we, as the opera
theatre and promoters of classical music, must definitely hold such big
concerts not only in the capital but also in other big cities,» noted Talgat
Mussabayev, Opera Company Director at Astana Opera.
«I got a unique impression. I liked it very
much—especially the voices of the artists. The mood is excellent,» shared a
spectator.
«The soloists performed great, and the turnout
was unexpectedly large. The symbiosis of the Aktobe choir and the soloists and orchestra
of the Astana Opera is very impressive,» said another spectator.
Trips to Kazakhstan’s regions take place
within the Year of Working Professions framework. Over two months, the artists
will visit the country’s major industrial centers: Pavlodar, Ekibastuz,
Karagandy, and Rudny.
