Since July 1, independent cassation courts, established on
the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, have been operating in
Kazakhstan. In their first month, they received nearly 5,000 complaints for
review, Supreme Court Chairman Aslambek Mergaliyev reported to the President.
He noted that the number of civil cases resolved through mediation and
settlement agreements has risen by 24% nationwide. Concluding the meeting,
Tokayev stressed the importance of strengthening trust in the judiciary and improving
the quality of justice.
