Kazakhstan, UAE sign over 20 agreements worth $5 billion

Akorda hosted a ceremonial welcome for the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit. Welcoming the distinguished guest, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the significance of the visit in further boosting bilateral relations. The United Arab Emirates is one of Kazakhstan’s key partners. In 2023, the governments of both countries signed a Joint Declaration on the implementation of strategic investment projects. Last year, direct investment inflows from the UAE to Kazakhstan more than doubled, reaching record levels.

«Your country is among top 10 foreign investors to Kazakhstan. During your milestone visit, we will witness the signing of more than 20 business agreements worth almost $5 billion, and I am confident that the full implementation of these projects will give a powerful boost to our multifaceted cooperation and serve the best interests of our nations,» Tokayev said.

For his part, Sheikh Khaled expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and noted that he is once again visiting Kazakhstan with special regard for the country, which he deeply values for its natural beauty and the hospitality of its people. He emphasized that relations between the two countries are built on trust, mutual support, and a shared commitment to development.

«Over the years, this relationship has grown steadily, expanding well beyond its early foundations in trade and investment. Our collaboration now reflects much broader scope, reaching into energy, transport, digital infrastructure, and more. The agreements being formalized today highlight the strengthened clarity of our shared priorities,» Sheikh Khaled said.
