Kazakh students have made history on the global stage. All five members of the national team won gold medals at the 56th International Physics Olympiad in Colombia. This year, more than 380 students from 85 countries competed, tackling challenging theoretical and experimental problems. The Kazakh team successfully completed all the tasks and achieved a perfect result. The national team had been working toward this achievement for three years, with the students trained by teachers, mentors, and national coaches. Kazakhstan has participated in one of the world’s most prestigious academic competitions for school students since 1997. Last year, the national team returned home with two silver and three bronze medals.
«Since 2019, at the initiative of
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kazakhstan has been systematically supporting
gifted children, promoting participation in international academic Olympiads,
and enhancing the prestige of the teaching profession. The achievements of
Kazakh students on the global stage are one of the results of the country’s
focus on developing human capital and investing in education and science, which
are enshrined in the Constitution as key national priorities,» said
Kazakh
Vice Minister of
Education Shynar Akparova.
