Kazakhstan has achieved WHO targets for reducing
premature mortality from non-communicable diseases by 25 percent and overall
and infant mortality by over 15 percent. Health Minister Akmaral Alnazarova
reported to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the current state of the
healthcare system and its development prospects. Efforts are underway to
improve access to medical care and advance oncology services. In particular,
the construction of the National Research Oncology Center has been completed,
and a Proton Therapy Center has opened in Astana. The pharmaceutical industry is
also showing steady growth. Over the past two years, investment in the sector
has increased 2.3 times, and product exports have nearly doubled. Six
investment agreements have been signed for the production of over 400 types of
medicines. The Head of State has instructed to improve the quality of medical
services and accelerate the sector’s digitalization.
