President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev participated in an informal meeting of the CIS
heads of state. He arrived in St. Petersburg for a working visit. The event was
also attended by the Presidents of Russia, Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic,
Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. During the summit, the participants
discussed priority areas of activity and prospects for developing mutually
beneficial cooperation within the Commonwealth. They also summarized the year’s
results. Notably, Russia chaired the organization in 2024. The GDP growth of
CIS countries reached 4.7%, while trade turnover increased by 11% over three
quarters. Tajikistan will assume the chairmanship next year.
